Awards Resource Guide |
The United States Dressage Federation (USDF) promotes and encourages a high standard of accomplishment in dressage throughout the United States. To recognize this high standard, USDF has developed a comprehensive award program to reward excellence within our sport. USDF encourages all members to strive for excellence by offering award programs for everyone.
Complete requirements for all USDF awards and programs may be found in the USDF Member Guide.
For your convenience, USDF offers a variety of online reports and information for members with a current USDF Group, Participating or Business Membership. You must be logged into the USDF website to access the reports for free.
- USDFScores.com – reports all scores for a specific rider, horse or owner, and rider award eligibility
- Historical Awards Reports – reports show all awards on file for a specific rider, owner, or horse
- Owner's/Lessee Horse Portfolio – results show all living horses currently in the USDF database system for a specific owner/lessee
- Breeder's Horse Portfolio – results show all living horses currently in the USDF database system for a specific breeder
- Dam/Sire Report – results show all living horses, with official breed registry papers on file, currently in the USDF database for a specific sire or dam

USDF's most popular award program is based strictly on the scores the rider achieves over time and scores do not expire. Recognition available for all levels of riding from dressage seat equitation to Grand Prix, including freestyles. Additional recognition available for riders aged 60 and over. Questions?

Certificates may be earned at every level, Training through Grand Prix. Horse performance certificates can be earned for young horses competing in any USEF four-year-old young horse class, or FEI five-, six- or seven-year-old young horse class. Through the USDF Year-End Awards Program, USDF recognizes top horses, owners, riders, and breeders. Fifteen different award categories are available, and scores must be earned in one USDF competition year, October 1 through September 30. USDF automatically tracks scores throughout the competition year and ranks horses and riders in the standings when all of the award requirements are met. Designed to recognize the accomplishments of specific breeds in dressage, these awards are presented to horses declared for a participating registry/organization (PO) with USDF. Scores must be earned in one USDF competition year, October 1 through September 30. USDF automatically tracks scores throughout the competition year and ranks horses and riders in the standings when all of the award requirements are met, and the All-Breeds PO has marked the horse eligible for the current award year. Both current and archived year-end standings are available on the USDF website. Questions?

The Youth Dressage Rider Recognition Pin Program is designed to recognize the accomplishments of youth in the dressage community at all levels. This program is open to students who are currently enrolled in grades 6-12 of a middle/high school or home school program. Pins can be earned in each year of enrollment in the program. The program year runs from July 1 through June 30 of each year. Questions?

The purpose of the Lifetime Achievement Award is to recognize long and faithful volunteer service to USDF. Individuals who will be considered for the USDF Lifetime Achievement Award are those who have demonstrated a lifelong dedication to the United States Dressage Federation and its mission as shown by attendance at annual meetings and a long history of membership in USDF. The USDF Member of Distinction is a prestigious national award that annually recognizes one USDF member who has demonstrated exceptional commitment in his or her local area or region toward carrying out USDF's mission: "dedicated to education, the recognition of achievement, and the promotion of dressage"; or who demonstrates longevity of excellence in the sport of dressage and who has made outstanding contributions to the growth, development, quality, popularity and appreciation of the sport of dressage at a local or regional level. - GMO Volunteer of the Year nomination form - Designed to recognize outstanding volunteer efforts at the local level. One GMO volunteer is recognized in each of the nine USDF regions.
- GMO Newsletter Award nomination form - Recognizes the authors of outstanding articles published in GMO newsletters, eight categories offered.
- GMO Website Award nomination form - Recognizes GMOs that create and maintain websites.
- GMO Photography Award nomination form - Recognizes outstanding efforts by GMOs that include amateur photography in their newsletters, four categories offered.
