Lexington, KY (October 29, 2024) – The United States Dressage Federation™ (USDF) extends its sincerest congratulations to Diane Welling for being named 2024 USDF Volunteer of the Year. As a passionate and long-time member, hailing from the great state of Ohio, Diane’s dedication to the sport and her volunteerism is exemplified by her status as a USDF Silver Medalist and her volunteer efforts as part of the US Dressage Finals volunteer team for over ten years. In fact, she has attended the US Dressage Finals every year since the inaugural 2013 event.

In her nomination, US Dressage Finals Volunteer Coordinator shared, “Diane is one of my major ‘go-to’ people. With her extensive knowledge and experience, she can cover any position at a moment’s notice, and does so willingly, with a smile on her face. Her dedication, and the time she commits to the sport she loves, knows no bounds, making her a prime candidate for this honor.”

As this year’s honoree, Diane’s contributions and efforts will be recognized at the Salute Gala & Annual Awards Banquet, held Saturday night of the 2024 Adequan®/USDF Annual Convention, being held in Houston. During the event, Diane will be presented with a perpetual trophy, established by Lisa Gorretta, which is on permanent display in the Roemer Foundation/USDF Hall of Fame, as she is recognized alongside other dignitaries like 2024’s Youth Volunteer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, and Roemer Foundation/USDF Hall of Fame inductee. The night will also feature the presentation of USDF Rider and Breeder of Distinction Awards, as well as the Adequan®/USDF Year-End and All-Breeds Awards.
